Volume 3 - Chapter 420: Li Hao’s Departure (Part 1)
"Ying Xiaoxiao!"
Li Hao's entire body tensed, eyes locked onto the palace doors. That familiar aura was becoming stronger and more distinct by the moment—until it finally burst forth like a rising moon, illuminating everything within the hall without obstruction.
Immortal force surged from all directions, vast and overwhelming, like a sea conjured from the void, flooding in and enveloping the entire palace.
This astonishing scene didn’t just startle Li Hao. Even Madam Wu and the maids in the courtyard felt it, staring in shock.
"Has Miss broken through?"
"This… this kind of momentum is far too grand. Even a breakthrough shouldn’t be like this, right?"
The maids, all at the True Immortal Realm, could barely breathe under the immense pressure of the overwhelming immortal force. They struggled to remain standing.
Outside the courtyard, hidden in the void, a Su family guard at the Immortal King Realm emerged, his gaze serious.
Most Su family members weren’t assigned Immortal King guards in secret, but for the Four Little Phoenixes—Su Muqing, Su Wanqing, and the others—there were always Immortal Kings watching from the shadows, guarding against demonic ambushes or unexpected dangers.
Now, this Immortal King’s gaze blazed like twin suns, piercing through the compressed immortal force to peer deep into the palace.
But within lay an ancient, supreme force that blocked his sight. It was like a surging tide of time, cloaking the cultivation chamber and rendering it impenetrable.
Though the Immortal King couldn’t see what was happening inside, he could sense that another presence, besides the young lady’s, had appeared. That presence was terrifying—so much so that even he, an Immortal King, felt a tremor of fear.
"What… is that?"
"Such a powerful aura!"
Outside the Zhuoxian Courtyard, Su family members in nearby residences also noticed the colossal pillar of light rising into the sky, centered over the courtyard.
"Zhuoxian Courtyard? Could it be that Muqing is breaking through?"
Elsewhere, Su Wanqing and Su Wanxue were jarred from their cultivation. Stepping out into the air, they looked toward the Zhuoxian Courtyard and flew there immediately, arriving in a flash.
They were not alone. Other elders, seniors, and talented disciples of the Su family were also making their way over.
In no time, the courtyard was surrounded by a gathering crowd.
Among them was the patriarch of the Su family, Su Zhenyuan, with Su Qingmei at his side.
"That is…"
As a half-step away from becoming an Emperor—a Quasi-Emperor—Su Zhenyuan could see through many of the layers of obstruction. When he spotted the terrifying primordial spirit drifting out of his daughter’s body, his eyes narrowed slightly in shock, followed by a surge of unease.
Though that primordial spirit had his daughter’s face, he knew—instinctively as a father—that it was not her.
Just as he was about to act, ready to suppress and interrogate it, a calm voice echoed in his mind.
"That is the Su family’s destiny. Do not interfere."
Su Zhenyuan froze. It was the voice of the ancestral founder, Su Jiuzhe.
"Husband, that…" Su Qingmei, though at the Immortal King Realm herself, was not as strong as Su Zhenyuan and could only sense faint changes within the hall. A sense of unease gripped her.
Su Zhenyuan didn’t reply. Instead, something else caught his attention. His gaze fell upon the youth sitting quietly in the courtyard.
The youth who always sat outside the hall had now risen. His face, normally calm—even during battles with demons—was now filled with visible tension. His entire body was taut, like a stretched rubber cord.
Su Zhenyuan paused. What was the boy so nervous about?
He could tell that Li Hao wasn’t afraid. His nervousness was born of something else—of fearing loss.
Under the watchful eyes of the gathered crowd, a beam of radiant light cloaked in rainbow mist suddenly burst forth from within the hall.
It was a primordial spirit—draped in azure robes, long dark hair flowing like a waterfall, wrapped in a terrifying aura of temporal origin. Most striking of all was the crimson ink mark glowing on her forehead, emanating a dense, compressed aura of primordial spirit.
They had felt that same aura before—when Li Hao had refined the blood of a True God.
This girl’s primordial spirit had also refined True God’s Blood!
As shock spread through the crowd, the dazzling girl’s face was filled with emotion. Tears, glimmering like fragile beads, slid down from the corners of her eyes.
With a sudden burst, she shot forward toward the youth in the courtyard.
At the same moment, Li Hao also took flight—faster than ever in his life. The two met midair and clung to each other tightly.
From their parting in the Southern Domain, after crossing countless lands, they were finally reunited in this distant Northern Domain.
"I’ve found you again…"
Shi Miao—or rather, Ying Xiaoxiao—threw herself into Li Hao’s arms, burying her face into his shoulder, hiding nothing of her emotions.
Back in the Southern Domain, surrounded by enemies, she had only barely made it to the battlefield in time. They hadn’t truly reunited, nor even had a proper farewell in the end.
"So have I."
