Volume 3 - Chapter 416: One Sword to Sweep Away All Evil, Only the Bright Moon Illuminates the Rivers and Mountains (Part 2)
Sword light flooded the Devil Ancestor’s domain, driving out every trace of darkness from the Dao Arena.
The black-veiled woman’s body was once again shattered and obliterated—without even a speck remaining.
Li Hao’s eyes remained cold as he scanned the surroundings. He could feel it—she still wasn’t dead.
He didn’t know what life-preserving method she was using, but it was undoubtedly similar to that Crimson Whisker’s Spiritblood Abominable Body—capable of surviving even without flesh. That kind of survivability was edging toward the level of a True God. Not in offensive might, but in sheer survivability.
This was the terrifying power awakened from top-tier bloodlines—innate gifts that surpassed the fruits of countless years of cultivation and effort.
The crowd had been holding their breath. Seeing Li Hao once again destroy the black-veiled woman, their eyes widened in unison. A collective sense of relief filled the air—but this time, no one dared cheer. Everyone watched in tense silence.
After all, Crimson Whisker had come back after being shredded—and had reversed the battle, slaying Jiang Xuming. Fortunately, nothing like that had happened to Li Hao.
“Is it her insane luck… or has my critical trait failed?”
Li Hao frowned as he swept the area with his divine sense. He had long since activated the critical strike trait on his system panel before this fight against demonkind.
A 1% chance to trigger a fatal strike, governed by the absolute laws of the system panel.
Yet after thousands of strikes—it had never once activated.
Had it failed?
Even if it failed, shouldn’t there be a prompt? Some kind of response?
Or was it simply that her luck was so absurd that the effect had never triggered?
This wasn’t pseudo-probability—it was real probability.
If it were pseudo, a hundred strikes would guarantee success. But with true probability… if her luck was strong enough, even ten thousand strikes might miss.
Narrowing his eyes, Li Hao kept tracking the black-veiled woman’s vital signs while thinking.
Suddenly, a thought struck him.
Could it be that all these top-tier prodigies were blessed with great destiny?
Maybe when someone like him met them, his probability was forcibly reduced to near-zero.
Or… perhaps it was because she had once communicated with a Heavenly Lord’s will—that influence could suppress probability itself!
Li Hao made a decision.
Next time he encountered another prodigy, he would test the critical strike again.
With that, he withdrew his thoughts and focused his divine sense. A sudden inspiration struck. He drew the True God’s Blood above his head into his body.
In an instant, his Primordial Spirit power surged. His “sight” grew sharper a thousandfold. His divine sense became crystalline, and the entire Devil Ancestor’s Dao Arena unfolded before him with exquisite clarity.
He could see the flow of origin laws in the air, clouds of immortal power drifting like mist—and within that immortal energy… shadows.
Shadows?
Li Hao’s eyes narrowed.
Immortal power, though invisible and intangible like air, was not truly formless.
If it were truly formless, how could it be absorbed and controlled?
Its “form” might be imperceptible to mortals, but to immortal eyes, it was as real as fog and dust.
And where there is form… there must be shadow!
In a flash, everything clicked.
Now he understood how she had survived her body’s annihilation—why she remained hidden, clinging to life.
Her core life source wasn’t in her body—it was in the shadows.
In the shadows of the immortal power!
At once, Li Hao raised his hand.
The All-Heavens Star Vein rumbled to life like a vortex, and sword energy coalesced in his palm.
“If you’re hiding in the immortal power… then I’ll cut the immortal power apart too!”
The All-Heavens Star Vein swirled like an inverted funnel, violently siphoning the immortal power from the Devil Ancestor’s Dao Arena.
Massive streams of immortal power flooded into his body, but there were wisps that resisted—traces that remained untouched, as if something inside them held them back.
In those remnants… something was pulling.
Black-veiled woman, hidden within, realized she had been found.
A chill ran down her spine.
How?! How did he notice?! How could he possibly see it?!
She had no time to ponder.
Li Hao’s sword flared to life.
Ten thousand threads of dazzling sword light bloomed from its edge—blood-red and searing, like a burning brand.
Boom!
The sword light slashed down, sweeping out like a firestorm!
This time, it wasn’t a giant surge of sword force.
It was countless fine, hair-thin strands of sword energy—like grains of sand—gathered into a single wave, meant to obliterate every last thread of immortal power in his path.
“I surrender!!”
A piercing shriek burst out from within the trembling immortal power. A cluster of shadow gathered frantically, screaming in panic.
Boom!
The arena’s sealing barrier shattered.
A vast, overwhelming force crashed down, filled with imperial might—it threatened to crush Li Hao entirely.
The mere ripple of that power instantly dispersed his firestorm-like sword light.
A man in purple robes appeared in the Dao Arena.
With a wave of his sleeve, the entire fiery sword wave was snuffed out like a candle.
But the force of that sleeve didn’t stop—it rolled forward toward Li Hao like a divine tempest.
The pressure was suffocating.
Just the residual force from that wave made Li Hao feel the breath of death—his body froze, unable to move.
Was this… the end?
That aura again—Emperor’s Will!
Li Hao’s eyes turned bloodshot. He let out a furious roar.
In the Southern Domain, he had been forced to bow his head before a Supreme.
Now, here—was a half-step Emperor also going to execute him with a flick of his sleeve?
Li Hao roared and drew his sword.
The Taowu Immortal Sword turned blood-red, resonating with its master’s cry. It responded with the resolve to share life and death. Sword aura erupted, fierce and wild, brimming with the full might of a peak Immortal Lord!
Boom!
The sword slashed forward, crashing into that invisible wave of sleeve force. Thunder rolled through the void. A terrifying backlash surged toward Li Hao, nearly knocking him off his feet.
Yet the force from the sleeve… wasn’t gone. Only slightly diminished!
Boom!
That terrifying power was suddenly stomped to pieces by a foot!
Three figures descended before Li Hao, shielding him.
Their presence was like roaring lions—their might thundered through the heavens.
Su Zhenyuan’s eyes blazed with fury.
“Are you people looking to die?!”
The purple-robed man frowned. He hadn’t managed to kill the youth with that strike. With Su Zhenyuan and the others arriving, any further assassination attempt would be impossible.
Facing their furious glares, he remained calm.
“What’s with the overreaction?” he said indifferently. “Since the black-veiled girl surrendered, I was simply brushing away some dust. I may have used a bit too much strength. But with you all here—how could I possibly kill him?”
He sneered.
“And besides, if I really wanted him dead—do you think he’d still be standing?”
“Oh? Then allow me to wave my sleeve too. Let’s see if your demon prodigies can take it!”
Jiang Qiuyu’s voice was icy.
As she spoke, she swept her sleeve. A horrifying force of the Great Void surged forth. The void collapsed. Time and space disappeared. The origin of all laws vanished—leaving only a path of nothingness.
That void path extended endlessly—threatening to devour everything.
The purple-robed man’s face shifted slightly.
Beside him, a middle-aged man with golden eyes stepped forward and raised his hand. A radiant divine power blocked the void path. He scowled.
“No need to overreact. The boy’s still alive, isn’t he?”
“Don’t push your luck just because we’ve shown you courtesy!”
Lin Daogong’s face was like frost. Usually refined and scholarly, even he seemed ready to curse.
“Hmph.”
With a cold snort, the purple-robed man swept his sleeve, gathered the black-veiled woman, and flew back to the black warship.
Su Zhenyuan and Jiang Qiuyu knew they couldn’t truly punish them. Fortunately, Li Hao was unharmed. If something had happened to him, they really might have gone all out, consequences be damned.
But for now… the situation hadn’t reached that point. They had to remain calm.
“Are you alright?”
Su Zhenyuan turned to Li Hao, eyes filled with concern.
Li Hao’s entire body still blazed with divine fire from his Primordial Spirit, though the flames had grown weaker.
He steadied the burning force, halting its eruption. The drop of True God’s Blood had been forged.
Though most of his Gold Bones were now reduced to ash… it had been worth it.
One drop of True God’s Blood was worth more than ten thousand taels of golden bone.
“I’m fine.”
