Volume 3 - Chapter 410: The Ultimate Battle (Part 3)
Ever since she was a child, Su Muqing had possessed a mysterious sixth sense—a strange intuition that gave her precise forewarning of danger. Whenever something bad was about to happen, a vague but persistent feeling would stir within her.
It was as if a voice whispered softly in her ear, warning her in advance.
This sense had helped her avoid many catastrophes and assassination attempts. It had never failed her.
And yet this time… she had hoped it was wrong. But once again, something terrible had come to pass.
"That’s a demon of the Spiritblood Clan. Judging by the look of it, he’s fully awakened his bloodline powers and cultivated the Spiritblood Abominable Body!"
Up ahead, a Su Clan elder at the Immortal King Realm explained solemnly to Su Wanqing and the other younger disciples.
"Spiritblood Abominable Body?"
Upon hearing this, Su Wanqing, Su Wanxue, and the others froze—then their expressions changed.
As top-tier prodigies of the Su Clan, they had access to many secrets. They had heard of this terrifying body—it was tied to one of the most powerful bloodlines among the demons. Legends said that once the ancestral power of that bloodline was fully awakened, one could forge the Spiritblood Abominable Body!
Its fame stemmed from one chilling fact—it forsook divine blood and immortal flesh entirely. The primordial spirit became the true core of the being, and immortal energy its new bloodline. In other words, even if their divine blood was obliterated and their immortal body annihilated, as long as their primordial spirit endured and immortal energy remained in the world, they could be reborn in an instant!
They treated the immortal energy of heaven and earth as their own blood, shaping themselves in the image of the cosmos—seeking immortality through mimicry of the heavens.
"So that means… he’s unkillable?" someone blurted out in shock—a young cultivator who had been following behind Su Qiyu.
"Unless his primordial spirit is completely destroyed, and all the immortal energy within this arena is purged. But if you did that, you’d be left with no immortal energy yourself," the Immortal King elder said grimly.
Everyone looked at one another, stunned. That blood-robed youth… was this difficult to kill? This troublesome?
Back inside the Demon Ancestor’s Battleground, Xiao Chi Xu’s body had already reformed. He glanced at the wide-eyed Jiang Xuming, and with a slight tilt of his head, spoke calmly:
"My turn now."
As he spoke, a torrent of blood energy erupted from his body, instantly blanketing half the sky within the Demon Ancestor’s Battleground.
Behind him, layers of Extreme Realm power surged. A towering Dharma Image emerged—but it didn’t resemble a human at all. Instead, it was a mass of blood-red sludge, constantly bubbling and bursting with blood blisters, exuding a deeply sinister aura.
This was his true form—of the Spiritblood Clan.
Another Dharma Image surfaced behind that one—this time it resembled a dark, round mass, like the shadowed backside of a star.
Within the darkness, fine silver strands slowly flowed, resembling pulsating veins.
In that moment, a spiderweb-like network of meridians appeared—Xiao Chi Xu had also mastered the All-Heavens Star Vein!
On his forehead, a Nine-Flower Nine-Sequences Immortal Seal bloomed. The aura he now released was fully equal to Jiang Xuming’s.
And as he drew upon the immortal energy of heaven and earth, all the power within the Demon Ancestor’s Battleground began to rush toward him.
Though both wielded the All-Heavens Star Vein, the celestial power reflected from the true realm’s stars flowed not to Jiang Xuming—but directly into Xiao Chi Xu’s body.
"You’re very strong. You must taste… delicious."
Xiao Chi Xu curved his lips into a smile—for the first time since stepping onto the field.
But the words he spoke sent chills down every spine.
The next instant, his figure flashed and charged straight at Jiang Xuming.
Jiang Xuming’s expression shifted drastically. Anger and alarm surged within him. He could already feel the flow of immortal energy around him slowing. Not only was this enemy a cultivation prodigy—he was also a seasoned fighter. In an instant, Jiang Xuming understood—Xiao Chi Xu could manipulate the immortal energy within the arena. Was this the power of his bloodline?
He had never heard that the Spiritblood Clan could do such a thing. But now, he had to find a countermeasure—fast.
"If one spear wasn’t enough before, then I’ll just strike again!"
Jiang Xuming’s mind raced. He moved again, unleashing the Taixu Spirit Drift technique to its limit—like a flash of thought made manifest.
Boom!
He teleported behind Xiao Chi Xu, his speed pushed to the utmost.
Just as he prepared to stomp the enemy to the ground and drive the divine spear through him again, Xiao Chi Xu suddenly turned his head.
Pfft!
A sharp blood barb erupted, piercing straight through Jiang Xuming’s body.
At the same time, a powerful suction force began rapidly drawing out the immortal energy within Jiang Xuming.
His pupils contracted in shock. Someone at the same cultivation level… could react to the Taixu Spirit Drift?
Feeling the power within him drain away, Jiang Xuming quickly retreated, face ice-cold.
"Tastes good," Xiao Chi Xu murmured, retracting the blood barb. He licked his lips, eyes locked on Jiang Xuming like a predator staring down prey.
Jiang Xuming took a deep breath. He had already begun to understand how Xiao Chi Xu was able to read his movements—and survive his attacks.
The immortal energy…
His decision was made. Behind him, the Taixu Dharma Image began to slowly merge with his own Dharma Image.
"Xuming!"
From the stands, Jiang Qiuyu’s expression changed. Her silver hair flew wildly.
She knew what he was about to do—to directly confront the ancestor of the Jiang Clan, and borrow his power.
But if he did that, he would be forced to face the full vision of Taixu—to see what their progenitor had seen.
For an Immortal Monarch, it was far too much.
To glimpse the boundless source of the Great Dao, the existence of the supreme heavenly law… that level of revelation could shatter the Dao Heart.
Only those who had reached the Immortal King Realm, with their own established domains, might barely endure such truths without breaking.
