Volume 3 - Chapter 407: Breakthrough, Arrival! (Part 3)
Another figure spoke calmly. His eyes were a striking violet, flickering with lightning that flashed and died within them—harboring a terrifying power.
The warship slowly approached the Emperor Star until its dark hull was swallowed by the star’s radiant light and passed within.
On Gusu Emperor Star, the hidden powers slumbering within the great clans all stirred at once, raising their heads in alarm, eyes narrowing as they gazed at the sky.
From beyond the star came a savage and unabashed aura—the vile, brutal pressure of the demon race surging forth like a tidal wave.
“They’re here!”
In one family, a hunched old patriarch suddenly opened his cloudy eyes. In that moment, they shone with a chilling light.
“Awaken the heir. Prepare to slay demons and purge evil!”
Another clan’s elder muttered grimly. The killing intent in his gaze was undisguised, and his cultivation aura erupted around him without the slightest restraint.
This was the human race’s Emperor Star—their home. How could they allow these demons to act with such arrogance, flaunting their foul aura as if they owned the skies?
As the massive warship descended, the demon race’s sinister presence blanketed the star like dark clouds. The people of over thirty thousand immortal cities across Gusu Emperor Star all felt an icy dread seep into their bones, as if some slick, cold thing were slithering down their throats and churning their guts. Nausea, discomfort, and an uncontrollable terror crept over them.
“It’s demon aura!”
“What terrifying power… what level of demon is this?!”
“Could it be… a Demon Emperor?”
“No, impossible! When a Demon Emperor descends, the imperial path spans the entire True Realm. Even a three-year-old could look up and see it.”
In every immortal city, countless cultivators were shaken. They lifted their heads to look toward the heavens, but their vision could not pierce the clouds—especially not to the far side of the Emperor Star, where the warship had landed. Still, that dreadful presence was like a demon whispering in their ears, palpable to all.
As the demon aura spread, waves of panic swept the realm. Then, suddenly, a torrent of overwhelming auras erupted across Gusu Emperor Star—one after another, they soared into the sky like divine pillars of light, tearing through the clouds!
These peerless auras came from every major family. Ancestors who had slumbered for centuries were awakening one by one, revealing their true power—each brimming with fury and murderous intent.
In a blink, Gusu Emperor Star became a battlefield between the human race and the demon race. Terrifying energies clashed in the skies, shielding immortal cities and directly confronting the demonic pressure.
Boom!
In Gusu City, within the Su family, a majestic force suddenly surged—like a god awakening from the earth and rising toward the heavens.
Every cultivator in the Su family’s various courtyards felt this immense and righteous pressure. It was pure, blazing with yang energy, vast and unyielding like a towering mountain.
Li Hao, deep in his sculpting trance, raised his head. His dazed expression sharpened, clarity returning to his eyes.
Above the Su estate, a massive Dharma Image had formed—so colossal it resembled an ancient titan. Even with Li Hao’s enhanced vision, he could only see up to its calves and knees. The upper body vanished into the clouds above, unfathomably tall.
“That is…”
Li Hao’s eyes grew solemn. The aura of this Dharma Image belonged to Su Zhenyuan, the patriarch of the Su family. It radiated imperial might, though clearly not at the level of a true Immortal Emperor—it lacked the boundless weight of a Supreme.
Creak—
The door to the hall burst open. A figure stepped out, wind swirling around her.
It was Su Muqing.
Her gaze locked onto the towering Dharma Image, eyes filled with gravity.
“The three-year mark…”
She murmured softly. Three years had passed in the blink of an eye—and the demons had arrived, right on schedule.
Li Hao looked at her, and she noticed his gaze. She glanced back and immediately saw that his cultivation had risen—he’d broken through to the second level of the Immortal Lord Realm.
So, her words back then hadn’t been entirely in vain… Though honestly, after spending so long in the Celestial Courtyard, it was about time he broke through.
Su Muqing withdrew her gaze. She had no reason to look at Li Hao further. Whether he had advanced or not meant little in the grand scheme of this battle.
What mattered was that she herself had broken through in these three years.
She had now reached the seventh level of the Immortal Lord Realm!
And it wasn’t just her realm—she had improved in other ways as well.
“A demon with a soul lifespan of a thousand years… let me see for myself.”
Cold light flickered in her eyes. Killing intent radiated from her like winter frost.
High above, thunder rumbled as the pitch-black warship descended. Mist and cloud scattered around it, and its crushing aura spread like an invisible tide, pressing down over Gusu City.
Not just the Su family—the Lin and Jiang clans, and every noble house in the city—felt the suffocating pressure.
“Three half-step Demon Emperors?!”
In the Jiang family, a silver-haired woman bearing a divine moon mark on her forehead sat within the grand hall of the Great Void Palace. Her gaze pierced the ceiling, staring directly at the warship above the clouds.
The next moment, her silver hair billowed despite the still air, and her immortal robes flared open. Behind her, a massive Dharma Image unfurled and rose like a tidal wave—sweeping past the immense Great Void Palace, shrinking even the surrounding Jiang Divine Manor beneath its feet.
The Dharma Image soared ever higher, and even Gusu City itself now seemed to rest under its towering presence.
