Cultivation Begins from Infancy - Ch 1249

Volume 3 - Chapter 403: A Flood of Challenges—And I Alone, Wield the Sword (Part 3)

As soon as the word “granted” fell from King Tan’s lips, he waved his hand—and thunder cracked through the heavens.

A streak of violet lightning split the skies, announcing the start of the battle.

“You’re courting death, boy!”

“I’ll crush him into paste—even his soul won’t survive!”

The young elites from the various great clans unleashed their aura in unison. Immortal energy surged across the battle stage as if they were afraid someone else might kill Li Hao before they got the chance.

A violent storm of immortal force erupted. The geniuses began revealing their Immortal Dao laws and Immortal Seal powers. Some even summoned their Heaven and Earth Dharma Images, each desperate to be the first to bring Li Hao down.

Most of their Immortal Seals were Eight-Petal Immortal Seals, with nearly a third possessing Nine-Petal Seals. While not quite at the level of the Nine Sequences, they were still considered top-tier prodigies.

In an instant, dozens of sword lights slashed across the battle stage, and the sheer might of it changed the color of the heavens.

Li Hao slowly lifted his hand.

Immortal energy flowed like nectar down his arm, gathering at his fingertip. A stream of that power extended outward, taking form—becoming an Immortal Sword.

This sword radiated with the essence of the Nine Sequences, its light rippling through the air. Even the void trembled and cracked.

“Hmm?”

King Tan’s eyes narrowed. Was that Nine Sequences origin power? And not weak, either.

That youth… he bore a Nine-Petal, Nine-Sequences Immortal Seal!

Shock pulsed through the King’s heart. To forge such a seal—only the highest tier of genius could do it. The so-called “Four Little Phoenixes” of the Su Clan, Lin Jinrou, and Jiang Huanhuan, all had such potential. They had already been accepted as personal disciples by mighty Immortal Emperors.

And now… this unknown boy?

“Only-Me Sword—Azure Sky!”

As Li Hao’s immortal power poured out from within, his long hair whipped upward. His calm gaze turned sharp—like twin blades of winter light.

His plain robe fluttered without wind. The energy within him surged wildly.

A tranquil lake had suddenly transformed into a towering mountain.

And then, behind him, a towering Heaven and Earth Dharma Image emerged.

It was cloaked in golden radiance. Its eyes remained gently shut, and in its hands, it gathered an invisible sword formed of pure essence.

That sword carried the power of the Nine Sequences. As its light flowed, it drew all five elements—metal, wood, water, fire, and earth—as well as time and space themselves. All the myriad paths of existence seemed to bow before that sword.

“What?!”

Below the stage, the Su, Lin, and Jiang Clans—and every watching prodigy—froze in place.

On the battle stage, Li Hao’s eyes gleamed like blades. With a flick of his wrist, the sword in his hand slashed upward.

Above him, the firmament seemed to split. The sky itself recoiled from the sword’s presence.

Slash!

With a single motion, sword light tore downward. Fire, wind, lightning, and thunder exploded from the void—like they were being squeezed out by the blade’s pressure. Lightning danced across the sky. Fire and wind howled into existence.

A terrifying sword force exploded like a flood, sweeping outward.

All the gathered opponents, whose powerful auras had moments ago filled the platform, suddenly looked small beneath this strike.

Their momentum crumbled instantly—like fireflies before the full moon.

Their might, so proud and mighty before, was now like ants before a collapsing mountain.

“What… what kind of sword aura is this?!”

“No way! How is his immortal power this dense? That’s impossible!”

“I…”

Cries of disbelief erupted.

They had slashed out with their own proud sword techniques—but before their blades could even touch Li Hao’s sword light, they shattered to dust.

All paths under heaven originate from the Nine Sequences. When the Nine Sequences become one—invincibility is born.

One by one, the sounds of destruction echoed. The countless figures rushing toward Li Hao flickered like dying flames. They fell like moths scorched by a heavenly fire.

Blood flew. Immortal power shattered. Dharma Images crumbled.

Just one sword strike.

The battle stage looked as though it had been torn open.

Everyone who had been on the stage was drawn toward the gaping sword fissure, sucked in, unable to escape. Their immortal bodies shattered. Their souls tore apart.

“This is bad!”

King Tan’s expression changed. He moved quickly, activating the domain’s power to shield the weaker geniuses. If their souls were truly destroyed, reincarnation would be their only option—and who knew what kind of existence they’d be reborn into.

This was meant to be a friendly contest among the younger generation. If anyone actually perished, he would be held responsible.

Soon, the residual sword aura dissipated.

Waves of force rippled across the protective array surrounding the stage.

That a mere first-rank Immortal Sovereign could shake the protective formation was a shocking feat in itself.

On the stage, blood and broken limbs were scattered everywhere. Dozens of shattered immortal bodies lay in ruin.

The entire arena fell into stunned silence.

Not a sound. Not even a breath.
