Volume 3 - Chapter 402: Then I Shall Pluck It for You (Part 2)
After the initial shock, murmurs rose throughout the crowd. Though surprised, most could accept the outcome.
“Didn’t she usually save her fights for the end? Why step in so early? Is she that eager to secure a spot?”
“There are six Immortal Aura Purple Osmanthus blossoms—more than enough to go around. Su Muqing may be unrivaled, but the others? This could turn into a real bloodbath.”
All eyes drifted toward Su Wanqing and the others, watching with anticipation as if waiting for a drama to unfold.
Su Wanqing and Su Wanxue both frowned. Achieving ten wins alone would be easy, but to qualify for the Immortal Aura Purple Osmanthus, they would need to prove absolute dominance—meaning if they met someone of equal realm, a victor had to be decided.
“Anyone else? Hurry up and get on stage. I need my wins!” Su Muqing said irritably from atop the battle platform.
Among the seated Immortal Lords at the sixth level, many exchanged glances, their expressions shifting.
After a moment of awkward silence, someone finally rose and flew onto the platform.
“Then allow me to learn from Miss Muqing’s renowned skill. I’ve heard much about you—”
Before he could finish, a wisp of sword intent coiled at the girl’s fingertip, unsheathed yet ready to strike.
“I’ll give you one move,” Su Muqing said flatly.
Her voice was icy, and the words carried unbearable arrogance. The young challenger’s face darkened, but he said nothing. Taking a deep breath, he drew his sword in silence, eyes flickering with anger.
Boom!
His Immortal Seal manifested—it was the Nine-Flower Immortal Seal. Laws of Immortal Dao chained around him, and a slash of sword intent resonated from the Dharma Image behind him, cutting forward in unison.
But this surge of might was extinguished in the blink of an eye.
A single strand of sword qi, delicate as thread, surged forward. Twisting time itself, it struck the moment the youth had first stepped on stage.
She’d claimed to allow him a move—but Su Muqing’s sword had already ended the fight before he could truly begin.
Boom!
The youth’s figure was shredded like ragged cloth and hurled from the platform.
Two wins!
The crowd fell silent. Most hadn’t even seen how he lost. His sword intent had looked overwhelming, but compared to Su Muqing, it was like mist before the wind. He never even had a chance to clash with her.
“What terrifying control of time…”
Someone muttered, eyes grave.
Su Qiyu’s eyes sparkled with pride. Even he was wary of his sister’s mastery over the essence of time.
Su Wanqing and Su Wanxue, however, remained calm—they had long known the depths of Su Muqing’s strength.
Nearby, Jiang Huanhuan and Lin Jinrou wore somber expressions, and others from their clans looked just as uneasy.
The True Phoenix of the Su Clan lived up to her name.
“Next.”
Su Muqing’s voice was cold, almost like giving an order.
The platform grew even quieter. After a long while, another challenger stepped up.
Boom!
The battle ended just as fast. Another instant defeat.
Three wins. Four wins. Five wins…
Su Muqing’s victory tally climbed swiftly, match after match. Without suffering a single loss, she soon accumulated twenty victories.
She was officially unrivaled in her realm and qualified to pluck the Immortal Aura Purple Osmanthus.
Her cold expression finally eased. Venting her frustration through those twenty fights had lightened her heart. Now that she had secured the blossom, she just wanted the duels to end quickly so she could go claim it.
As Su Muqing left the stage and returned below, a figure from the Jiang Clan soared up to the battle platform.
“Who dares challenge me?” she declared.
This was another Jiang Clan girl—not close to Jiang Huanhuan—and it was clear she wasn’t pleased about Su Muqing stealing the spotlight.
Her cultivation was at the fifth level of the Immortal Lord Realm. Soon enough, someone of equal cultivation ascended to face her.
This Jiang Clan girl was ruthless in her attacks. Like Su Muqing, she aimed to end every match in a single move, but her strikes were brutal.
The first challenger was gravely wounded, their primordial spirit damaged. The second had their Immortal body shattered, requiring precious medicine to recover.
As the matches went on, the duels grew more savage. What was once a civil competition between prodigies now bordered on a battle to the death.
Still, the Jiang Clan girl kept racking up victories.
Unlike Su Muqing’s graceful ease, her methods became increasingly savage, her power more and more violent.
Once she had ten victories under her belt, Su Wanqing no longer waited and stepped forward to fight.
They were both at the fifth level of the Immortal Lord Realm, and with ten victories already, the Jiang girl was eligible to pluck the Divine Spring Golden Osmanthus. But the Immortal Aura Purple Osmanthus? Su Wanqing had no intention of letting that go.
Seeing her move, many among the noble clans who had suffered defeat at the Jiang girl’s hands instantly cheered for Su Wanqing.
“That Immortal Aura Purple Osmanthus is mine!” the Jiang girl said coldly.
Su Wanqing replied calmly, “Then show me what your skills are worth.”
“Hmph!”
The Jiang girl snorted, though her eyes grew serious. She hadn’t expected to win with one strike—Su Wanqing, while slightly weaker than Su Muqing, was still one of the Su Clan’s Four Little Phoenixes and among the top elites of the entire Gusu Emperor Star.
As the barrier closed around them, their battle erupted.
Two sword cries clashed like twin dragons, shaking the platform. A terrifying surge of sword intent spread through the air, startling many onlookers.
“So powerful!”
“I heard Su Wanqing practices the Nether God Sword Dao. They say once her sword aura touches you, the wound can’t be healed—utterly terrifying!”
“That’s an ancient forbidden sword path—extremely hard to master! Unless Jiang Yingtong ends this quickly using her Ruinous Eye technique, she’ll likely lose!”
Both Su Wanqing and Jiang Yingtong were peerless prodigies. Their battle had already moved to another level. With powerful Immortal arts and roaring Immortal force, both wielded the Nine-Flower Immortal Seal—fully formed, complete with all Nine Sequences.
As the fierce clash raged on, Jiang Yingtong suddenly activated the Ruinous Eye. But Su Wanqing had long prepared. She unleashed a crimson sword aura, stained with some kind of malevolent blood energy.
The scent reached Li Hao, who had been staring at Su Muqing. His gaze sharpened, and he looked up.
Boom!
The crimson sword aura slashed through the air. Jiang Yingtong clutched her face and screamed, “My eyes!”
Blood poured from her forehead, from the eye of her Ruinous Eye technique. It gushed between her fingers—horrific to witness.
Whoosh!
