Cultivation Begins from Infancy - Ch 1218

Volume 3 - Chapter 393: Winning Glory at the Sword Pool (Part 2)

Li Hao stopped in his tracks, eyes locked on the two disappearing figures. His expression was complicated. He knew he'd lost control—he shouldn't have acted so rashly.

He turned to the steward beside him. “They’re daughters of the Su family?”

“You really didn’t know?”

The steward looked stunned. On Gusu Imperial Star, who didn’t know the Su family’s young ladies?

The nearby guard raised an eyebrow. With Miss Su already gone, he saw no need for further pretense. As a fellow man, how could he not recognize a clumsy attempt at flirtation? His eyes flashed with contempt—what a low-tier tactic.

Seeing Li Hao shake his head, the steward couldn’t tell if he was truly unaware or simply pretending. Either way, he lowered his voice and said, “The one who spared you just now was Miss Su Muqing. She’s the true phoenix of our Su family’s current generation—peerlessly talented. On Gusu Imperial Star, there’s no one who doesn’t know her. Among the younger generation, only perhaps the imperial scion of the Lin clan can rival her—certainly no more than three others in total.”

“The girl beside her is her half-sister, Su Wanqing—one of the Su family’s Four Young Phoenixes.”

“The Four Phoenixes?”

Li Hao recalled the noblewoman’s mention of her four daughters. His gaze flickered.

Then he remembered the whispers he’d overheard earlier outside the manor. They suddenly came into focus. His pupils shrank—those young women being gossiped about… it had been her?

Li Hao’s face darkened. He turned to the steward. “I want to see Madam Su.”

The steward was taken aback. “This…”

“Please notify her—I must see Madam Su,” Li Hao said seriously.

“I can only report to Miss Yaoqin. Whether Madam Su will agree to meet you… I can’t say.”

The steward gave a wry smile. If he weren’t in charge of Li Hao’s lodgings, he wouldn’t have even shown up earlier. But if Li Hao caused trouble, he’d be the one held accountable.

The guard gave a mocking laugh and left without another word.

Back at the Sea Moon Hall, the steward conveyed the request to Yaoqin on Li Hao’s behalf. Li Hao waited, tense and uneasy.

Elsewhere, in the inner court of the Su estate, within the Zhu Rong Garden.

There lay a martial training ground—an Earth-tier field reserved for Su family disciples. An Immortal King realm elder was stationed there to oversee and instruct the younger generation.

Right now, a crowd had gathered outside the arena. The atmosphere buzzed with excitement. Within the barrier of the dueling grounds, two figures were locked in fierce combat, cheers and exclamations erupting from the spectators.

Before long, the fight ended in a draw—neither gaining the upper hand.

Any further would mean using trump cards and turning the match into a life-and-death battle.

“Fang Xiu is incredible. As expected of the main bloodline—he’s only at the second-level Immortal Lord realm, yet he held his own against Yunshan, who’s three levels higher!”

“Well, the main family cultivates entirely different techniques from the rest of us. Unless one achieves major military merit, they can’t even access those.”

“A draw, then. I wonder who Brother Qiyu will choose for his personal guard.”

The onlookers murmured, their gazes frequently drifting toward a tall young man beside the Immortal King elder.

The young man wore moon-white robes. His demeanor was calm, his eyes gentle, and he carried a refined, scholarly air.

“Brother Qiyu is already close to reaching peak Immortal Lord. To serve as his personal guard would be an incredible opportunity to learn high-tier Immortal techniques and advanced movement skills.”

Many among the crowd looked on with envy. Though they were all of the Su family, there was a stark difference in status. To serve the main bloodline—even as a bodyguard—was still a coveted post, not shameful in the least.

After all, even their own mothers and concubines served as attendants and maids under the household matriarch.

“Qiyu, what do you think of Yunshan?” the Immortal King elder asked, eyes smiling as he turned to the young man.

This youth was a standout among the Su family’s current generation. Though older than the Four Phoenixes and at a higher cultivation level, his innate talent was slightly inferior.

For some reason, in this generation of the Su clan, the most monstrous prodigies were all young women.

Before the young man could reply, two streaks of light shot across the sky—azure-blue robes fluttering like falling moonlight. Around them, faint glimmers of falling osmanthus petals materialized—an involuntary phenomenon caused by their attunement with the Dao.

Instantly, all conversation ceased. Every gaze locked onto the approaching figures. As the two landed, silence hung over the training field.

Then came the collective gasp—and rising waves of awe.

“It’s Miss Su Muqing! She actually came!”

“And Su Wanqing too! No wonder they’re sisters—both are stunning!”

“Why are they here? Are they going to spar with us? Test our strength?”

Excitement rippled through the gathered Su family disciples. Both girls were among the Four Young Phoenixes, their strength unmatched among peers. Normally, they were rarely seen. On Gusu Imperial Star, they were practically celebrities.

“Muqing.”
