Volume 3 - Chapter 389: Departure (Part 2)
Yuexi and Gu Yan, along with the others, stood in a daze as they watched their fellow disciple.
The radiance emanating from him was something no ordinary True Immortal could possibly match. They had a premonition—when they saw him again, he would shine a hundred times brighter than he did today.
At the edge of the Myriad Mountains Sword Tower, Lin Qingying’s eyes were filled with both joy and sorrow.
She didn’t chase after the departing figure.
Everything that had happened had brought her to a sudden realization—her strength was far too meager. If she were to follow him now, she would only become a burden.
“One day…”
She murmured softly in her heart.
But for now, Li Hao was alive.
That was enough. She still had the hope of seeing him again.
“Child…”
As she stood lost in thought, a soft and gentle voice suddenly echoed in her mind.
Lin Qingying stiffened. Her first reaction was that it must be her imagination. She looked around in alarm.
At that same moment, both the Supreme and the Dao-Origin Immortal Emperor seemed to sense something. Their gazes flickered as they turned to scan the crowd below—sweeping across the unremarkable figure of a woman in green.
Although the woman was stunningly beautiful, in a crowd of dazzling prodigies, she didn’t particularly stand out.
“I am the Primordial Mother of Non-Action. Are you willing to become my disciple?”
That gentle, benevolent voice spoke again.
This time, Lin Qingying heard it clearly. She stood rooted to the spot, dazed, sweeping her eyes over her surroundings—but saw no one speaking.
Yet deep in her heart, she felt it.
This… might be her path.
“I am willing.”
She answered silently in her heart.
…
Li Hao walked the Imperial Path.
Step by step, he pressed forward until the mountain range gave way to the starry sky. Under the gaze of countless onlookers, he finally reached the end of that road.
There lay a vortex in the void—a swirling gate to another realm.
Li Hao knew that the Dao-Origin Immortal Emperor intended to send him elsewhere.
Standing before the vortex, the youth paused, turning slightly as though he might look back. But in the end, he did not.
He stepped forward—and entered the vortex.
From that moment on, the youth vanished from the eyes of the Southern Region.
The Dao-Origin Immortal Emperor’s gaze swept across the Supreme.
In an even tone, he said, “The others are of no concern. I trust the Supreme won’t make things difficult.”
The Supreme’s response was equally calm. “Since the Southern Region’s gathering has concluded, I won’t keep you for wine.”
Dismissed.
The Dao-Origin Immortal Emperor smiled faintly, unfazed. Without another word, his figure faded into the void—leaving not a trace behind.
Once he vanished, a brief silence fell over the mountain range.
Then slowly, murmurs returned.
Everyone spoke in hushed tones, their voices brimming with awe and wonder. They tried to guess where the youth had gone.
Such a monstrous prodigy—had he remained in the Southern Region, or had he left entirely?
The thought that he might have truly departed left many with deep regret.
Such a talent not fighting for the Southern Region… was a staggering loss.
The matter of the Sin Immortal was ten thousand years old. Was it really still worth pursuing? Many were beginning to wonder, sighing inwardly.
The remaining contestants looked at one another with complex expressions.
Especially those in the True Immortal Realm. Save for a few like Shen Wuji, the heirs of the great clans all wore similar looks of quiet conflict.
The group battle for the True Immortal division hadn’t even concluded, yet it now felt unnecessary.
No one had officially claimed the top spot—but in everyone's heart, the title belonged to that youth.
The uncrowned king.
“What a pity…”
Chu Tianhuang sighed to himself.
He had planned to befriend the youth after the battle ended.
Chu Yueli, however, frowned. Her expression was ugly.
She didn’t know where that boy had gone.
She would have to ask her imperial father. If he had truly left the Southern Region… then her engagement would be no more than empty words. Worse, she might become a laughingstock among her royal sisters.
“There’s always someone greater out there. Never thought I’d live to sigh over a younger genius.”
Bo Ya Xuejian muttered softly. A wry smile touched her lips as she shook her head. Her gaze swept across the other Immortal Lord-level prodigies. Only those who earned the right to enter the Primordial True Realm would have another chance to meet that youth.
At that moment, the boundary stone in the sky once again lit up.
The Supreme retracted his power, and the scene on the mountain was broadcast across the Southern Region.
When they saw that the youth was gone, all the immortal courts broke out in discussion, confused and curious.
The Celestial Guard Commander, acting on the Supreme’s orders, announced that the tournament would continue.
“This trip to the Southern Region has truly opened my eyes,” Gui Lingyue murmured, her voice full of complexity, emotion—and a hint of excitement.
Gui Lingshuang remained silent.
After Li Hao’s ascension to Immortal Lord, the aura he released had made even her feel apprehensive.
He had only a century of Soul lifespan. Just stepping into the Immortal Lord Realm, and already this fierce?
She felt the gap between them like a chasm.
“What happened?”
In a quiet corner of one of the immortal courts, Mi Xueyao stared at the newly projected scene in the sky, brows furrowed.
That guy… was gone.
Had he died? Or…
